What does it mean to obtain a sensation of satisfaction through food? Our hypothesis is that satisfaction is a unique sensation that was obtained by the ancestors of humankind during their evolution.
Looking back on the evolution of humankind, there was a point in time where our ancestors came down from the trees and started living on the land. One theory goes that it was from around this time that humankind began to eat meat. This also coincided with the period that saw a massive increase in brain size.
In other words, our brain seeks the food that primitive humans were eating (i.e. meat, which is rich in fats and proteins) when it underwent massive growth. We believe that humans are programmed to instinctively find food high in fat and protein to
be delicious.
It is also said that there are two types of delicious flavor, one we perceive innately and another that is acquired based on knowledge and information.
Of the flavors that we innately find to be delicious, we believe those that stimulate our reward system give rise to satisfaction. In other words, humankind instinctively seeks out delicious, animal-based food products such as meat and fish, and this brings satisfaction.
As long as satisfaction is on offer, people should be able to choose from and enjoy a range of plant-based foods. MIRACORE™, with its approach and technology, enhances the satisfaction gained from plant-based foods.
MIRACORE™ aims not for “trade-offs” where one thing is given up for another, but for “trade-ons” where we experience excitement and enjoyment as we change our behavior.
MIRACORE™ tirelessly pursues pleasure and joy in eating, and aims for a future with different options for food. We find this an exciting prospect, and hope you do too.
